Fashion according to Samuel Ross

Samuel Ross  stands out among the names of the new English fashion scene. Raised in difficult neighborhoods, he manages to attend the university of graphic design, studies that will help him create his idea of fashion and develop his passion for architecture. Known for being the protege of two names that have made street style trend,  Virgil Abloh and Kanye West, he founded his brand A Cold Wall at the age of 24 . From 2015 to today the brand has grown and becomes a new point of reference in the menswear scene until it reaches the catwalks of Milan. On the occasion of the Milan FashionWeek dedicated to men, we met him to let him tell us what has changed in the last years and what are the new horizons to reach.

What do you think of fashion? And what about style?

« Style is expression. A manifesto of its values. An opinion based on experiences, commitments and visibility.  Fashion is the fuel of style, its purpose is to position style as a virtue: fashion is fueled by the artist, experience, signal, commitment ».

Has covid changed your point of view regarding the fashion system?

“ It has changed partially. The comfort, the way of wrapping the body, the lightening of the thickness have become a virtue and embody a well-determined perspective that transmits positive values - all this contributes to redefining what fashion has to offer to the community and to a wider audience. ".

You are considered an enfant prodige of the sector, do you never feel the pressure?

« Only the one I put on myself, I'm a stoic: personal expectations are high, there are no compromises. As such, my priority is to define and refine the final result relentlessly ».

How do you start creating your collections?

" Thinking deeply, observing society and the details of modernity, sometimes crossing historical artistic movements, finding ideas from the past to revive".

The inspiration for Spring Summer 2022?

" Self-expression, indefinite optimism, color theory".
